Federal Councillor Karin Keller-Sutter attends meeting of the finance ministers of the German-speaking countries

Bern, 21.08.2026 — Federal Councillor Karin Keller-Sutter will attend this year's meeting of the finance ministers of German-speaking countries in Liechtenstein on 24 August 2026. The main focus will be on long-term financial policy challenges, financial sector resilience and the strengthening of European competitiveness.

Attending alongside Federal Councillor Karin Keller-Sutter will be Liechtenstein's Prime Minister and Minister of General Government Affairs and Finance Brigitte Haas, who is hosting the meeting, Germany's Vice-Chancellor and Federal Minister of Finance Lars Klingbeil, Luxembourg's Finance Minister Gilles Roth and Austria's State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Finance Barbara Eibinger-Miedl.

The ministers will discuss the long-term challenges for financial policy, specifically with regard to security, health, ageing and climate aspects. They will also explore ways of strengthening competitiveness in Europe and, against this backdrop, exchange views on financial sector resilience, crisis prevention and the fight against economic crime.
