Home care services: private home care companies invoice more hours per patient, but at a lower cost
Neuchâtel, 16.5.2024 - In 2022, the national average hourly rate for home care services was CHF 114 when provided by a public organisation, versus CHF 83 for private companies. Public authorities' contribution per hour of care was higher for public providers than private ones. However, private providers invoiced more hours overall. Private home care companies invoiced 2.5 times more hours per patient than their public counterparts. These are some of the findings from a Federal Statistical Office (FSO) publication on the financing of home care services.
